Sal began Wednesday's show with a bang, making it clear from the jump that he is not a fan of the NBA's new In-Season Tournament, which was in action the night before.
"Think about how sad the NBA has become in that they need to create a convoluted In-Season Tournament to pretend that regular season games count," Sal said. "They couldn't even explain what's going on! Point differential in the Boston game? How much the Knicks need to win by?"
BT countered that NBA fans were active on social media during Tuesday's slate, tracking point differentials to figure out who would be advancing out of group play. Sal says it only causes confusion, and highlights the fact that the NBA is acknowledging that the regular season no longer matters.
"It is so convoluted, but to me, the bigger issue, is they are trying to make games - that they as a league have diminished - mean something, where we all know the reality is, the coaches - more so the players - don't care about regular season games anymore," Sal said. "You think people like this crap?"
