Get ready, because several more years of several hours of commercial-free football starts…right now!

According to Front Office Sports, Scott Hanson has signed a multi-year deal to remain the host on NFL’s RedZone channel, a deal which will also include coverage of major events like the Super Bowl, the NFL Draft, and the Scouting Combine for NFL Network.

Hanson, 50, is the true iron man of the NFL, as he has hosted every minute of every NFL RedZone Sunday since its inception in September 2009.
Over 12 seasons, he’s been at the helm for every touchdown for every game in the 1 and 4 p.m. ET windows, and has coined terms like “Quadbox" and Octobox” or “The Witching Hour” – the time frame when every early game has reached the fourth quarter.

NFL Network did not confirm the report, with Front Office Sports quoting spokesman Andrew Howard as saying: “We are still formulating all of our plans for on-air talent and will communicate those at the appropriate time.”

Hanson, however, did Tweet this early Wednesday afternoon:

Per Front Office Sports, Hanson’s previous deal expired before the 2020 season, but he worked last fall on a one-year deal because of the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. The former Syracuse football walk-on has been with NFL Media since 2006, spending six years prior to that with Comcast SportsNet affiliates in Philly and DC, and starting his career as a local sports reporter with stints at small stations in Michigan and Illinois before moving to Tampa.
