Jorge Masvidal is getting ready to take on Colby Covington at UFC 272, and Masvidal has already broken out the trash talk.

“That other guy you just mentioned, nobody knows that f---ing bum,” Masvidal said on The Fight Fan in response to Covington’s name. “It’s 100 percent on me. It’s just a tribute and credit to my hard work I’ve put into the sport.”

Masvidal also blasted Covington for his previous appearances on PPV, and UFC president Dana White is expecting a bloodbath, saying to “have security ready” for the anticipated fight. Masvidal agrees, saying he’s coming for violence and a knockout.

“I’m not trying to win by decision,” Masvidal said. “You’re paying $100 for a ticket…I’m trying to give you every dollar’s worth…I give them what they want, that pure violence and getting after it.”

Masvidal will get a chance to put his money where his mouth is on Saturday night, but he’s been enjoying every step of the journey towards the octagon with Covington.

“I’m always working,” Masvidal said. “To me, it’s not really working. I love to be in the gym preparing for my next fight...I love this life, man. I was born for this.”
