BT not sure Nestor Cortes could be solid four or five starter on winning team

Nestor Cortes bounced back in a big way after two sough starts to begin the season, tossing eight shutout innings against the lowly Marlins on Monday night at Yankee Stadium.

Still, BT does not believe it means the lefty is on his way to returning to his 2022 All-Star form.

“I’m not sold on him,” BT said. “His stuff is just eh…I still don’t trust him. I think his stuff is as average as it gets.”

BT is so unsure of Cortes, he can’t even agree with Sal that Nasty Nestor is a quality fourth or fifth starter in a winning rotation.

“I’m not sure. I’ve always said that. but I’m not gonna overreact to the Marlins. The Marlins are bad,” BT said. “I’m being dead serious. At the end of the day, when it’s time to win a massive game, I know he won’t give up…but I’ll take Rodon over the rest of the year than Nestor. I really would.”
