The Yankees rotation has its question marks, especially with ace Gerrit Cole on the shelf for the next two months. But BT believes the Yankee lineup will be able to do enough to absorb any question marks that may linger within the rotation in 2024.
“The way the game has gone the last 5-7 years, the Yankees are going to get to the World Series based on their sticks, not their arms,” BT said. “If the Yankees are getting somewhere and doing something meaningful, they’re doing it with their bats.
“I think the two most important aspects of baseball now, you gotta hit and have a good bullpen…where are the certified aces in baseball? One of the guys who was very good a year ago doesn’t even have a job right now in Jordan Montgomery. If you can hit and get into the other team’s bullpen, you have a chance.”
Armed with the likes of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, BT is expecting big things from the Yankee offense, to the point where they can mask any deficiencies within the pitching staff.
“Who else is out there that, when you look at this Yankee team and they are humming…on all cylinders in October, that they can’t touch?” BT said. “I don’t think there’s anyone out there.”
