Dellin Betances was released by the Dodgers on Wednesday, and now, the four-time All-Star has reportedly called it a career.
According to Jon Heyman, the former Yankee reliever and pillar of the “No Runs DMC” trio alongside Andrew Miller and Aroldis Chapman, has retired from baseball at 34 years old. He signed with the Dodgers in April but never made it to the majors, as injuries sapped him of his once elite velocity.

One of the most valuable relievers in baseball in his prime, Betances was an All-Star every year from 2014 to 2017, pitching to a 2.11 ERA in that span with 492 strikeouts in 306.2 innings of work.
Injuries hampered Betances’ production in 2019, and the New York native signed a two-year deal with the Mets, though he would only pitch 12.2 innings at the major league level.
