Gleyber Torres looks like he's ready for Opening Day.
The Yankee shortstop began Saturday's spring training game against the Blue Jays with a home run to left off Anthony Kay in the third inning, and one inning later, he was at it again, banging a no-doubt home run off the scoreboard in left for a two-run shot.
Torres had one spring training home run heading into Saturday, a number he eclipsed in two at-bats. He also doubled in his first at-bat of the game.
Torres is looking to get back to his All-Star level in 2020, having struggled out of the gate last season following a 38-home run season in 2019. Brian Cashman said he felt Torres was out of shape to begin the 2020 season, something Torres feels was addressed this season. He certainly looked like he was feeling better physically on Saturday.
