If there is anyone that needs a fast start to the 2021 season, it's Gary Sanchez.
He wasted no time getting off to that quick start on Opening Day.
Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second and Gleyber Torres aboard, Sanchez stepped in and blasted a no-doubt home run to left off Hyun-Jin Ryu to give the Yankees a 2-1 lead, and help Sanchez begin what he hopes will be a bounceback season after hitting below .150 in 2020.
The home run traveled 407 feet and left the bat at 107.2 mph. He became the first Yankee catcher to homer on Opening Day since Jorge Posada in 2010.
