What's next for Yankees after Aaron Judge deal? 'I think there's more to come'

The Yankees have completed their top priority of the offseason, signing Aaron Judge to a nine-year deal worth $360 million.

As Mark Feinsand of MLB.com declared on Wednesday morning after the news broke, the contract means that Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner should be absolved of the “cheap” label that many fans have donned him with over the years.

“The narrative that Hal Steinbrenner is cheap and not what his father was, that’s over now,” Feinsand said while on MLB Network. “He stepped up and gave out the biggest contract, not just in Yankee history, but in baseball history.”

The MLB insider also believes that Steinbrenner will further push that label into the rearview by making more moves after Judge this winter, and commit to building a contending team.

“The Yankees got their man, they did what they had to do. I don't think they're done,” Feinsand said. “I think they understand that their 13-year championship drought feels more like 130 years in Yankee land, and I think there's more to come.”

Whether that is adding another outfield bat like Brandon Nimmo, or a top-line starter like Carlos Rodon, the Yankees still have options to upgrade the roster, and it will simply come down to a willingness to spend more to make it happen.
