C-Mac: Yankees in danger of season being over before trade deadline, Aaron Judge return

The Yankees are desperately trying to stay in the race until they can get reinforcements back in Aaron Judge and Nestor Cortes, while possibly adding more pieces at the trade deadline, but C-Mac says if the team continues to play like this, it will be too late for saviors.

“The feeling is, ‘I’m in freefall, and my season is this close to being over,’” C-Mac said.

“I’m worried this season isn’t gonna make Aaron Judge getting back. I’m worried Brian Cashman can’t pull a rabbit out of his hat soon enough, even if he did have a great trade deadline, because the team is falling apart right now.”

The Yankees are now 2.5 games back of a playoff spot, and well out of the AL East race, failing to capitalize on what has been an awful July for the first-place Rays. If the Yanks can’t figure out how to score runs, Judge and the cavalry will return to a team that has little left to play for.

“They are in freefall,” C-Mac said. “Every other team is better, every other team is playing better, and the Yankees are gonna find themselves, if they continue this way, to be five, six, or seven games out of a playoff spot before they have an opportunity for their superstar to come back, or before this GM has an opportunity to make trades for players that might change things.”
