Oswaldo Cabrera has been with the Yankees for precisely one month, and he has already checked off an impressive amount of positions in which he has seen playing time.

The latest entry? First base, after Marwin Gonzalez was pulled from Friday night’s game, and Aaron Boone called on the 23-year-old to put on a first baseman’s mitt for the first time in his professional baseball career.

With Friday’s appearance at first, Cabrera has now played first base, second base, shortstop, third base, and right field since being called up and making his Yankee debut on Aug. 17. The entire infield has been checked off his list, and is two outfield spots away from playing every position in the field other than pitcher or catcher.

Cabrera hasn’t provided much at the plate since being promoted, but he has been valuable with his versatility. Despite playing only three games ever in right field since beginning his minor league career, he has already played 19 games at the position in the majors, showing off an impressive arm in the process.

Cabrera played 3.1 innings at first base Friday night, and without incident.
