The Yankees didn’t play on Friday night due to rain in the Cleveland area, but that didn’t stop Anthony Rizzo and Aaron Judge from taking the field.
Or did they?
In a hilarious video posted by the Yankees Twitter account, two team staff members, reported by MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch to be physical therapist Joe Bello and video coordinator Dan Pane, put on Judge and Rizzo’s road uniforms and emerged from the visiting dugout to run around the field, pumped up the small amount of fans still in the stands, and slid onto the rain-soaked tarp, while the Yankees dugout erupted in laughter.
Some fans even thought it was the real Judge and Rizzo, hustling down to try for an autograph before likely realizing that these two uniformed “players” were much smaller than the two Yankee home run leaders.
Anything to stay entertained during a rainout, right?
