Evan’s Yankees hatred, after years of dormancy, appears to be back.
As the Yanks ride an eight-game winning streak and come off a bludgeoning of the Blue Jays after sweeping the Rays, Evan wants it known that the Bombers’ dominance isn’t as impressive as their record might show.
“I wish I could be in the American League and play nothing but crappy teams,” Evan said during Friday's show. “That would be awesome.”
Evan previously said the Yanks were entering a tougher stretch of their schedule, but now doesn’t think Tampa was a suitable test, nor will many other teams be, according to Evan.
“The Rays are trash, dude,” Evan said. “They can’t get fly balls, their offense is anemic, they’re dealing with injuries. The Tampa Bay Rays are hot garbage.
“The Yankees are good… but who is good in the American League? We have the Yankees and the Astros. The rest of this league stinks. I would take the Dodgers, the Braves, the Padres, the Cardinals, over any America League team, other than the Yankees.”
Turns out, being 32 games over .500 isn’t as impressive as it would be in the National League.
“It’s OK with being in the junior circuit,” Evan said. “That’s fine, you’re in a bad league. There’s nothing wrong with that. But come on. You know this league sucks.”
