Just two days after Bill Teerlinck left the team for a defensive line coaching job with Virginia Tech, the Buffalo Bills have found his replacement.

The Bills announced on Friday that the team has hired Eric Washington as its new defensive line coach.

Washington joins the Bills after spending the last nine seasons with the Carolina Panthers organization, most recently serving as the team's defensive coordinator for the past two years under, now, former head coach Ron Rivera. He had also served as their defensive line coach from 2011 to 2017.

The 50-year-old got his NFL coaching career started in 2008 with the Chicago Bears, where he served as a defensive assistant under head coach Lovie Smith. Washington eventually became the defensive line coach in Chicago in 2010 before joining the Panthers one year later.

Washington is also re-united with Bills head coach Sean McDermott, who served as the Panthers' defensive coordinator from 2011 to 2016.
