Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett has been suspended indefinitely by the National Football League for his actions at the end of Thursday's 21-7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Garrett's suspension is, at mimimum, through the remainder of the regular season and the postseason, if the Browns were to qualify.
With just 15-seconds left in the game, Garrett wrapped up Rudolph after a short dump-off pass and proceeded to put him on the turf. Rudolph did not like Garrett's actions and responded by attempting to rip Garrett's helmet off to try and get the Browns defensive end off of him. Garrett then responded by ripping off Rudolph's helmet while being pushed away by Steelers guard David DeCastro. As Rudolph got up to confront Garrett, Garrett then swung Rudolph's helmet at him, connecting on the top of the head of the helmetless quarterback.
"I didn't see why it started, but it's inexcusable. I don't care, rivalry or not, we can't do that. It's kind of the history of what's been going on here lately, hurting yourself. That's just endangering the other team, that's inexcusable. He knows that."
