Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Sabres have called up defenseman Lawrence Pilut from Rochester.
The move was needed because Jake McCabe has an upper-body injury and will not travel to St. Louis for Thursday's game against the Blues.
Visa problems continue for newly acquired winger Michael Frolik and he didn't practice on Tuesday.
Jack Eichel and Kyle Okposo both took part in the Skills Challenge on Sunday, but both didn't practice on Tuesday for what the Sabres are calling a maintenance day.
Pilut is once again an AHL All-Star. With the Amerks, Pilut has five goals and 16 assists for 21 points in 29 games. Last season, Pilut played 33 games with the Sabres, netting a goal and five assists.
This is his first call up with the Sabres this season.
