2025 NFL Draft profile: Wide receiver Jack Bech

While the Bills have some needs on the defensive side of the ball, it's always a good idea to give Josh Allen more weapons in the passing game

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - In the days leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, WGR will provide profiles on some players that could be a good fit for the Buffalo Bills at positions of need.

As we continue to focus on wide receiver this week, this profile will feature Jack Bech, who is the latest in the line of wide receivers from Texas Christian University to be drafted by an NFL team.

A native of Lafayette, La., Bech spent the past two seasons playing for the Horned Frogs after spending the first two seasons of his college career at Louisiana State University.

Bech was an All-American and a four-star recruit in high school. As a freshman, he led LSU in receptions, and in his two years with the Tigers, Bech recorded 59 catches for 689 yards and four touchdowns.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder made a bigger impact with TCU.

He only played in eight games in 2023 due to an injury, but last season, Bech had a career year with 62 catches for 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns. The yardage total was the fourth-best single season in program history behind Josh Dotson, Quentin Johnston and Jalen Reagor, all of whom were NFL draft picks.

Bech's 2024 season earned him Second-Team All-Big 12 recognition, and he was recognized as a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award, which goes to the best receiver in college football.

Bech also participated in the Senior Bowl, where he was named the game's Most Valuable Player.

You will probably hear a lot about Bech's story, and the tragedy he has had to deal with. Bech's older brother, Tiger, who played football at Princeton University, was among those killed in the terrorist attack in New Orleans this past New Year's Day.

Here is what Joe Marino from the “Locked on Bills” and “Locked on NFL Scouting” podcasts has to say about Bech:

Positives:

Very complete player that gives you a lot of versatility.

I think he can be a power slot guy. I think he can win on the perimeter. Really dynamic route running profile, excellent hands, excellent ball skills. A guy that has such outstanding spatial awareness, somebody that I'm very comfortable with being able to work zone coverage and find those soft areas and be extremely quarterback friendly.

Big-time football character guy that I think will not only elevate a passing game, but elevate a locker room with the type of person is.

Concerns:

I would say he's just not super dynamic overall. l don't think you're going to watch him and think, "Wow, there's great separation quickness."

Although he's a good separator, you might want a little bit more explosive elements for a guy that can get down the field and win with the ball in his hands.

The overall profile is very exciting, but I think you're cautioned a little bit by the modest athletic profile that exists, to round out the overall package with the player.

WGR will provide full coverage of the 2025 NFL Draft during all seven rounds, starting Thursday, April 24 and continuing through Saturday, April 26.
