Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen practiced on Wednesday, but will be closely monitored throughout the week leading into Sunday's matchup with the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
Allen is dealing with an injury to his right shoulder that he sustained this past Sunday's night against the New York Giants at Highmark Stadium. Following the 14-9 win, Allen underwent further examination, including x-rays on his shoulder that came back negative.
"I'll know more a little bit after today, and seeing how he does out there. [It's] always a concern," said head coach Sean McDermott ahead of Wednesday's practice. "I know we've been around each other enough that he'll communicate if things raised to a certain level. Right now, it's one day at a time approach here."
Allen currently holds the longest active streak for the most consecutive games started for a quarterback at 77. The last time he didn't start a game for the Bills was a Week 10 matchup against the New York Jets in his rookie year on Nov. 11, 2018.
As for Allen, he didn't express any concern regarding his throwing shoulder on Wednesday following practice.
"I would put it in the pain management [category], but it's feeling pretty good," said Allen with reporters.
In addition to Allen, 11 other players appeared on the Wednesday injury report. Three of them - running back Damien Harris, defensive tackle Ed Oliver, and tight end Quintin Morris - did not practice at all.
