Tyler Bass' kickoff into the end zone with 13 seconds to play in the AFC Divisional Round against the Kansas City Chiefs will be the final act for Heath Farwell as special teams coordinator of the Buffalo Bills.

After three seasons with the Bills, Farwell is reportedly headed for Jacksonville to take on the special teams coordinator role of the Jaguars.
With Farwell's exit, the Bills are promoting assistant special teams coordinator Matthew Smiley to be the new special teams coordinator.
Smiley pre-dates Farwell in Buffalo, as he's been with the team since Sean McDermott's first season as head coach in 2017.
Before joining the Bills, Smiley spent four seasons as the assistant special teams coordinator of the Jaguars from 2013-2016.

It's certainly possible that Farwell's departure is directly related to the Bills not squib-kicking against the Chiefs with those 13 seconds remaining.
When asked on multiple occasions, McDermott chalked up the kickoff to "execution".
The Bills could have approved the lateral move for Farwell to join Jacksonville, or his contract was already set to expire this offseason.
The Bills' official announcement of Smiley's hiring came only two hours after it was first reported Farwell was going to the Jaguars.
