The Buffalo Bills have signed veteran cornerback Daryl Worley to the team's practice squad after recently having a visit with the organization.
The 25-year-old was released by the Dallas Cowboys this past Wednesday after the team had reportedly failed to find a trade for the fifth-year cornerback. Worley played just seven games with the Cowboys this season, starting four of those contests while registering 14 tackles and one pass defended. He signed a one-year, $3 million deal with Dallas in the offseason.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound cornerback was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the third round (77th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft out of West Virginia. He played one season in Raleigh, North Carolina for current Bills head coach Sean McDermott when he was the Panthers' defensive coordinator. In his two seasons in Carolina, Worley played all but one game, starting 25 of them while making 152 tackles, two sacks, and three interceptions.
During the 2018 offseason, Worley was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, but never made an appearance after he was released following an arrest for driving under the influence, disorderly conduct and related offenses.
Worley then joined the Oakland Raiders, where he spent two seasons playing 25 games, while recording 91 tackles, 15 passes defended, two interceptions and a fumble recovery.
To make room on the practice squad, the Bills have released cornerback Lafayette Pitts.
