Bills sign cornerback M.J. Devonshire Jr. to practice squad

The signing could be a depth move for the cornerbacks room after losing Ja'Marcus Ingram

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills have added some depth to the cornerbacks room with four games remaining on the 2025 regular season schedule.

The Bills announced the signing of M.J. Devonshire Jr. on Tuesday to the practice squad. To make room for Devonshire Jr. on the 16-man practice squad, the Bills have released offensive lineman Nick Broeker.

Devonshire Jr. has yet to suit up for a game in the NFL after being a seventh-round pick of the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2024 NFL Draft out of the University of Pittsburgh.

After spending all of last season as part of the Raiders' practice squad, Devonshire Jr. has spent brief moments of time with the Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers this offseason.

Devonshire Jr. may be more so seen as insurance for the Bills after the team lost cornerback Ja'Marcus Ingram to the Houston Texans via waivers, and had veteran corner Darius Slay not report to the team after claiming him off waivers from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Bills are set to return to practice on Wednesday, where head coach Sean McDermott will address the media beforehand.
