Bills sign eight 2024 draft picks to rookie deals

Buffalo has also added a linebacker and released offensive lineman Tommy Doyle

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - As the Buffalo Bills continue to ready for the 2024 season during organized team activities (OTAs), the team has signed eight more of their 10 draft picks from their 2024 draft class.

These signings included second-round safety Cole Bishop, third-round defensive tackle DeWayne Carter, fourth-round running back Ray Davis, fifth-round picks Sedrick Van Pran-Granger (center), Eddie Ulofoshio (linebacker) and Javon Solomon (defensive end), and sixth-round picks Tylan Grable (offensive tackle) and Daequan Hardy (cornerback).

Earlier in the offseason, the Bills also signed their seventh round draft pick from this past draft, Travis Clayton. Clayton was selected from the NFL's International Player Pathway Program from England as a rugby player.

The only Bills draft pick yet to sign his rookie contract is second-round wide receiver Keon Coleman, who was selected 32nd overall out of Florida State University. The 21-year-old has been practicing with the team throughout rookie minicamp and OTAs.

Last season with the Seminoles, Coleman registered 658 receiving yards on 50 receptions and 11 touchdowns. He was a transfer from Michigan State University after playing two seasons with the Spartans, where he recorded a combined 848 yards and eight touchdowns.

In addition, the Bills announced on Tuesday the signing of undrafted free agent linebacker Shayne Simon.

The 24-year-old finished his collegiate career last season at the University at Pittsburgh, where he attended school and played for the Panthers for two seasons. At Pitt, Simon registered 94 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss and seven sacks.

He also spent four years as part of the program at Notre Dame University with the Fighting Irish. There, he only played 21 total games, registering 26 total tackles and three tackles for loss.

Simon was among the attendees at Bills rookie minicamp last month on a tryout basis.

To make room for Simon on the roster, the Bills have waived/injured offensive lineman Tommy Doyle.

Doyle, a former fifth-round pick of the Bills in 2021, is coming off a second major knee injury suffered last season. His first major knee injury came during the 2022 season after being able to suit up for 11 games in his rookie 2021 season.

Over the course of the last two seasons, Doyle has been limited to just one game played for the Bills.
