Bills sign punter Sam Martin

Martin had been released by Broncos

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills finally have their punter.

The team announced on Wednesday it has signed 32-year-old Sam Martin, who was recently released by the Denver Broncos.

Martin entered the league as a fifth-round draft pick of the Detroit Lions back in 2013, spending seven seasons in the "Motor City" before moving on to Denver prior to 2020.

Martin has finished in the top-10 in yards per-punt three times during his nine-year NFL career.

The Fayetteville, Georgia native can also handle kickoffs. He served as the Lions' primary kickoff specialist throughout his nine years in Detroit.

To make room on the roster for Martin, the Bills placed wide receiver Marquez Stevenson on Injured Reserve, which means he will be ineligible to play or practice for, at least, four games.
