Bills sign wide receiver Marcell Ateman to one-year deal

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills have announced the signing of 28-year-old wide receiver Marcell Ateman to a one-year deal on Thursday.

To make room on the 90-man roster, the Bills have released wideout Braydon Johnson.

Ateman who was a former seventh-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma State by the, then, Oakland Raiders. In 19 NFL games with the Raiders organization, Ateman has caught 20 passes on 41 targets for 270 yards and one touchdown.

The Dallas native was signed by the Arizona Cardinals in 2022, but ended up being released before the start of the season.

Ateman most recently played for the St Louis Battlehawks of the XFL, where he caught 19 passes for 259 yards in six games played.
