Bills wrap up 2024 NFL Draft by selecting offensive tackle Travis Clayton with 221st overall pick

Clayton participated in the NFL Academy in 2019 before being selected into the International Player Pathway

Detroit, Mich. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills wrapped up their 2024 NFL Draft class by going international with their seventh-round pick, selecting offensive tackle Travis Clayton at 221st overall.

Clayton played rugby over in England, joining the NFL Academy in 2019. He then was selected to join the the International Player Pathway (IPP) program.

At the NFL Combine, Clayton ran a 4.79 40-yard dash, which was one of the fastest time amongst all offensive linemen over the last 10 years.

Clayton was 1-of-16 players to be a part of the IPP, and spent time playing other sports such as rugby, soccer, boxing, rowing, skeleton, and tennis.

Here is what NFL analyst Lance Zierlein had to say about the Bills' final draft pick this year:

"English offensive line prospect whose experience in rugby shows up with straight-line speed and athleticism. Clayton will need to spend significant time developing and adding more muscle to his frame. He looks smooth in his pass slides and on pulling drills, and he has the bend to stay low into contact. Any chance of making an NFL roster will depend heavily on his toughness and a team’s ability to provide him with the necessary reps to get better at his craft."
