’Twas the night before Christmas throughout all of Buffalo.
We’ve been through a lot the last two years; fans just want to say, “Let’s Go!”

In January the Bills season came to a close in Kansas City.
It was a fun and beautiful ride, but the end wasn’t as pretty.

Before that, two home playoff games we all got to see.
For the first time since 1996….that’s almost a quarter century!

First up were the Colts and quarterback Philip Rivers.
But after the game, the headline read, “Josh Allen Delivers!”

In Round 2 it was the Ravens, with Lamar and his tricks.
But then came the play of the year, a Taron Johnson pick six!

There was limited capacity, just like a lot of other places.
But when it was over, tears of joy ran down all of BillsMafia faces.

In the offseason there were some key free agents they really wanted to keep.
But with the salary cap crunch, they hoped the money wouldn’t be too steep.

On the offensive line, they re-signed Williams and Feliciano.
Then focus turned to the defense, and they kept Matt Milano.

In August came the news we were all waiting to see.
A quarter-billion dollar extension for the franchise QB.

The 2021 season hasn’t been quite the same shiny lights.
But everything this team wants is still in their sights.

Fans wonder how they’re only 8 and 6 when you look at those stats!
But none of it even matters, as long as they beat the Pats.

Now to the ice, where the Sabres are pretty hot.
How about the playoffs, you ask? Well, that’s still a long shot.

We all knew this season would be a rebuilding year.
Getting nothing for Eichel was actually the biggest fear.

Yeah, Jack wanted out, he asked to be traded.
But Kevyn Adams didn’t rush it, he sat, and he waited.

Making it tougher was Jack’s injured neck.
Other teams weren’t even allowed to do their own check.

When it was finally complete he was dealt to the Knights.
Now a fresh group of players will try to take the Sabres to new heights.

It wasn’t just Jack, it was Risto and Sam, too.
Both got dealt away so Buffalo could start something new.

This season was never about people expecting to win.
It’s always been about the development of guys like Peterka and Quinn.

On to college where UB football got bit by the head coaching dance.
Once again it was Kansas who came calling, this time for Coach Lance.

Yes, Leipold left, he did a good job, and it was sad to see him go.
But I can tell big things are ahead just by watching Coach Mo!

Down in Olean the Bonnies got lots of love when the Top 25 hit.
A few tough losses lately but they’ll be just fine….they have Mark Schmidt.

When baseball started the Blue Jays once again couldn’t be in Toronto.
So our great city sprang to action and said, “get them here, pronto!”

Go downtown, catch a game, eat some ballpark franks.
We got to see teams like the Sox, the Rays, and even the Yanks!

We’ll look back on 2021 with a lot of mixed feelings.
In the meantime, we’ll pay close attention to the new Bills stadium dealings.

But it’s on to 2022, and it’s about time again that we party.
And in Buffalo, there’d be no better way to do that than to hoist the Lombardi!

Happy Holidays!
