Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Bills announced Wednesday that fans attending games this upcoming season will be required to wear masks when in indoor portions of Highmark Stadium. This includes all indoor areas, indoor club levels, concourses, suites, restrooms and other enclosed spaces.
If you are outside in the bowl of the stadium, you will not be required to wear a mask if you are fully vaccinated.
The Bills will hold an open practice to fans at Highmark Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 1, before opening the 2021 regular season on Sunday, Sept. 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Additionally on Wednesday, Erie County health officials remind concertgoers Saturday night to bring their masks, as they will need them for some parts of Highmark Stadium with Billy Joel coming to town.
"This requirement extends to concourses, indoor areas and other enclosed spaces at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park. This also includes fans, staff and vendors who will attend the scheduled Billy Joel concert on Saturday, Aug. 14," says the health department.
The Erie County Health Department says anyone entering an Erie County facility or building is required to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status. This includes Highmark Stadium, which Erie County happens to own.
