Phoenix, Ariz. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills have officially exercised the fifth-year option on tight end Dalton Kincaid’s rookie contract, general manager and president of football operations Brandon Beane told reporters at the annual league meetings in Phoenix on Monday.

Drafted 25th overall in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of the University of Utah, Kincaid will be going into his fourth season with the club and was entering the final year of his rookie deal.

Picking up the fifth-year option means Kincaid is now under contract for two more seasons, through the 2027 campaign.

The 26-year-old caught 39 passes for 571 yards and a career-high five touchdowns last season, and was named to his first Pro Bowl.

However, knee injuries in each of the last two years have limited his availability and production.

"We'd like for it to be where he is able to play more," said Beane on Monday, noting the team managed his rep count as the season went on and he played in primarily passing situations.

"Unfortunately, that thing just flared up and it was tough to calm down. But to Dalton's credit, the rest of his body held up pretty good. I do think he got stronger and the goal is to continue to do that again this year."

Through three years with the Bills, Kincaid has played 41 regular games, grabbing 156 passes for 1,596 yards and nine touchdowns. He's added another 23 catches for 286 yards and three scores through seven postseason contests.
