It was a game where many knew the Buffalo Bills would have to score and put up points in order to beat Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks.
That's exactly what the Bills did this past Sunday in Orchard Park.
It was quarterback Josh Allen who outdueled Wilson at Bills Stadium, throwing for 415 yards and accounting for four touchdowns in a 44-34 win over Seattle to improve to 7-2 on the 2020 season. With the win, Buffalo is off to their best start to a season since the 1993 campaign when the team started that year with an 8-2 record through 10 games.
The Bills can reach that 8-2 mark this upcoming Sunday when the team travels to Glendale, Arizona to face the 5-3 Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium.
The Cardinals are coming off a loss this past week to the Miami Dolphins at home, where the No. 1 offense in the NFL was clicking for most of the game, but it was not enough in a 34-31 defeat.
Kyler Murray continues to prove to be one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the league, as he threw for 283 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday, while also rushing for 106 yards and a score. The second-year signal caller is on a pace to finish the 2020 season with more than 4,200 yards passing and nearly 1,100 yards on the ground.
Buffalo's defense was tested last week against the third-ranked Seahawks offense and stepped up to the challenge, getting to Wilson five times and pressuring him relentlessly throughout the game. This week will likely present a greater challenge with Murray and the top-ranked offense in the NFL, who averages 422.0 yards per-game.
It was a rare miss for Howard Simon this past week with his pick of the Bills losing to the Seahawks.
However, the win over Seattle put Howard in a good mood heading into this week's game in Arizona. He has the Bills beating the Cardinals on the road, and then finishing up the 2020 season with a 12-4 record and, potentially, an AFC East title for the first time since 1995.
