Josh Allen says he's 'quickly becoming' best friends with Mitchell Trubisky

The Bills' quarterback room seems like a great place to be

Mitchell Trubisky’s decision to sign with the Buffalo Bills to back up Josh Allen signified their status as a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Looking to rebuild his value, Trubisky thought coming to Buffalo was preferable to potentially starting on a lesser team.

And he’s already bonding with Josh Allen.

While chatting with reporters following Wednesday's opening practice of training camp, Allen said Trubisky is “quickly becoming” one of his best friends.

Allen also extolled Trubisky’s work ethic.

“He comes in with a great attitude every day and he’s working his tail off and he’s not afraid to ask questions about the offense,” Allen said. “He’s here to help this team win in whatever that way may be. ... He’s played in like 50-something games. So he has a lot of experience and a lot of knowledge and a lot of ideas that he’s been throwing around in the meetings.”

Trubisky, whom the Chicago Bears selected No. 2 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, seemingly values being in those meetings with Allen. In signing with the Bills, Trubisky passed up a chance to compete for the Denver Broncos’ starting job, according to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe.

That’s a true vote of confidence. It’s nice to see Allen returning the favor.

Trubisky has completed 64% of his passes for 10,609 yards, 64 touchdowns and 37 interceptions over his four-year NFL career. He inked a one-year deal, $2.5 million deal with Buffalo in free agency.
