Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills find themselves on a three-game winning streak as they prepare to head over to London, England to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Following a strong defensive outing from the Bills on Sunday against a high-powered Miami Dolphins offense in Orchard Park, the unit is likely to get stronger with the return of veteran defensive end Von Miller.
Miller will be returning to practice on Wednesday with his teammates, and could very well play this weekend in his first game since Buffalo's Thanksgiving Day win over the Detroit Lions last season.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott is optimistic with how Miller will look as he returns to the team.
"He's going to come in and do his job, just like he's done since he's gotten here," said McDermott on Wednesday while addressing the media on-hand in Orchard Park. "Certainly a really good player, but at the same time, it's just what he's coming back from. At the end of the day, I know he's intent on playing just good team football. But it's a welcome addition to the group, and having him back, it's been a journey for him. I don't think I've ever seen a guy with such a positive mindset, mental toughness, just really goal oriented on getting back and getting healthy again, and getting out there on the field."
One major injury the Bills picked up in their win over the Dolphins this past Sunday was the loss of cornerback Tre'Davious White with a torn Achilles. McDermott says it will be up to a player like Dane Jackson to step up in White's absence once again.
"Great example of controlling the things you can control, and taking all your concerns and putting them in another bucket and letting those go, but focusing on what you can control what's right in front of you," McDermott said. "I'm sure he'd probably tell you he was disappointed, and outside of a very few, just a couple minutes, I was around him and I could just tell. But that's the competitor in him, where you're down a little bit. He's been nothing but exceptional in his mindset, as well, and is willing to contribute in any role to the team. He's just done a phenomenal job and when he's gotten out there, he's been ready to go."
