Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - Following a stellar Week 2 performance against the Las Vegas Raiders in their home opener at Highmark Stadium, the Buffalo Bills now shift gears to prepare for a Week 3 matchup with the 2-0 Washington Commanders at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland.
While some may look at the Commanders' start to the season as an easy two wins playing against some lower level competition - Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos - Bills head coach Sean McDermott is showing no lack of respect for a team that remains unbeaten to start the year.
"Anytime you get off to a 2-0 start and you're feeling like you've also come from behind, those are things you learn about your team early on," said McDermott during his meeting with the media on Wednesday at One Bills Drive. "I'm sure they're feeling confident in their situation, as they should. They're off to a 2-0 start."

In the days after Buffalo's win over the Raiders on Sunday, McDermott had some high praise for the play of linebacker Terrel Bernard and safety Taylor Rapp. He feels both young players on the roster stood out as key pieces on defense in the win.
"Those are two good football players that we have confidence in," McDermott said. "You know you use everyone on your roster, that's what you get paid to do as a coach. We're very confident in those two guys. They're very good football players. They're young, in terms of the amount of time they've been with us or been on the field for us. That being said, they work extremely hard, and we can't wait to watch as the season unfolds, as they continue to grow."
While there are some young players on this current Bills team, there are just as many veterans that have good NFL experience. McDermott thinks this experience can help the Bills become a better football team week-in and week-out.
"Experience is a good teacher, and it's good to have on your résumé," he said. "I think that you lean on that experience from years past, but you're also trying to build your own identity looking ahead and going forward. It tends to be a great teacher, and if used the right way, it can benefit you."
