McDermott: 'We look at our schedule, we look at our approach, we really try and take care of the players'

Bills head coach Sean McDermott joined Sal Capaccio on the Extra Point Show ahead of Buffalo's matchup with Miami.

Buffalo, NY (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills have returned to form following the bye week as they demolished the Carolina Panthers and bested the Kansas City Chiefs as well. They next take on a familiar opponent in the Miami Dolphins.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott joined Sal Capaccio on the Extra Point Show to preview the matchup and give updates about happenings with the team.

Left tackle, Dion Dawkins, was named the NFLPA community MVP for week 10. McDermott spoke on players not only performing on the field but being a role model off of the field as well.

"We want to win games. There's no doubt about it, that's that's what we're here to do. Beyond that, there's a bigger purpose and a higher purpose for myself for our players, for our community, for our organization, and that's to make an impact in our community. And I'm extremely proud when I hear stories of guys like Dan and beyond making that impact, that positive impact in our community. And it's a real thing, right? We want to win, like I mentioned, but that imprint, that footprint that we create, lasts for a long time."

Looking at the Miami matchup, only two players have been confirmed out so far, A.J. Epanesa and Shaq Thompson. As a whole, the injuries have piled up for this defense but McDermott finds joy in a young player stepping up and confirms we will see that against Miami.

"From a coach's standpoint and a teacher's standpoint, like I said, it part of the great joys of coaching teaching... is seeing young people develop, and for the light to come on and to take an opportunity and make the most of it. So Landon will have an opportunity this weekend, more than likely, to do that, and we continue the journey with the other key members that are those young guys that you saw already for a couple games now. Max, Jordan Hancock, the list goes on."

Kickoff is set for 1:00p.m. this Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. You will be able to catch all of the game action on the radio home of the Buffalo Bills, WGR Sports Radio 550.
