The Buffalo Bills will be making a second appearance on Thanksgiving Day in the past three seasons.
As was first reported by Master Tesfatsion from Bleacher Report, the Bills will travel to New Orleans for a prime-time matchup with the Saints on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25 at Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
As is usually the case with the Thanksgiving schedule for the National Football League, the Detroit Lions will host the early game of the day at Ford Field, while the Dallas Cowboys get the afternoon game at AT&T Stadium.
The prime-time slot on Thanksgiving night has never had any specific team hosting or playing in the game annually. However, with the Saints and Bills being the featured game that Thursday night, it will be the third time in four seasons that New Orleans will play in the prime-time slot.
The NFL was forced to move the originally scheduled prime-time game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ravens on Thanksgiving this past season due to COVID-19 issues with Baltimore.
The Bills last played on Thanksgiving during the 2019 season when Josh Allen led Buffalo to a 26-15 win over the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. Before that, the Bills had not played a Thanksgiving Day game since the 1994 season when they suffered a 35-21 loss to the Lions in Detroit.
The two other games that will take place on Thanksgiving Day this season will feature the Lions hosting the Chicago Bears for the third time in four seasons, while the Cowboys will reportedly take on the Las Vegas Raiders.
