Steelers-Titans to play later this season after more reported cases of COVID-19 in Tennessee

Another player and one additional Titans staff member have tested positive for the coronavirus

The Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers will not play their Week 4 matchup in Nashville this Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.

The NFL announced Thursday morning that the game will be rescheduled for later in the season after an additional Titans player and another staff member tested positive for COVID-19.


The rescheduled game's date has not been announced by will be "made shortly."

In a statement, the NFL says:

"The decision to postpone the game was made to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel. The Titans facility will remain closed and the team will continue to have no in-person activities until further notice."

In total, 11 members of the Titans organization have now tested positive for COVID-19 - five players and six personnel.

The Buffalo Bills are scheduled to be the Titans' next opponent on Sunday, Oct. 11 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

The Steelers are slated to match up with the Philadelphia Eagles at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh for Week 5.
