Two-time major winner Bubba Watson is reportedly the latest PGA star to depart the Tour for controversial breakaway league LIV Golf.

Watson has long been rumored to be interested in making the jump to LIV, and according to the UK-based outlet The Telegraph, he was set to make his debut at The International in Boston over Labor Day Weekend.
An official announcement was expected over the weekend, the report said, when LIV Golf was set to stage its second US-based event at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., beginning Friday.
Watson, a 43-year-old two-time Masters winner who was once ranked as high as No. 2 in the world rankings, has been sidelined since late May due to a torn meniscus. The long-hitting Florida native has 12 career wins on the PGA Tour.
By defecting to the Saudi government-backed LIV, Watson joins countless other former PGA stars including Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Patrick Reed, Cameron Smith, Sergio Garcia, Henrik Stenson, Lee Westwood, Charl Schwartzel, Louis Oosthuizen and more.
The PGA responded by suspending some defectors, while others chose to resign their memberships so as to avoid banishments. Those who joined LIV are still permitted to compete in majors, which fall outside the purview of the PGA.
