Former Wichita State baseball star hits first Major League home run

Former Wichita State third baseman Alec Bohm hit his first home run in the major leagues on Sunday evening, helping his Philadelphia Phillies to a 5-4 win in Atlanta over the first-place Braves.

Starting at 3B for the Phillies, Bohm hit a solo shot in the top of the second inning to open the scoring for the game. It was a 446-foot blast to the fountains in
center field. For the game, Bohm was 3-for-3 at the plate, and his now batting .344 in his rookie season in Philadelphia.


Bohm was the #3 overall pick out of Wichita State in the 2018 Major League Baseball amateur draft.

The game was broadcast live on SportsRadio KFH 1240AM, 97.5FM as part of nationwide coverage of Sunday Night Baseball.
