MIAMI (790 The Ticket) -- Chris Bosh, whose No. 1 jersey will be retired Tuesday night by the Miami Heat, joined "Tobin, Leroy & Beast" on The Ticket to talk about the honor and his career.
Bosh's career was cut short due to blood clot issues, and he admitted it took time to come to grips with the end of his playing days and to mend his relationship with the Heat organization after their contentious dispute over his medical status.
"I'm not going to lie to you: It's been hard over the last couple years, but in the last four to five months, well, it really started with reconnecting in Mexico City," Bosh said, referrring to attending the Heat's international game in December 2017. "That was just a tough thing. You don't want to put yourself in a position where you're upset because you can't play basketball anymore. I just kind of moved on from it. These are lifelong partners. These are lifelong relationships we made.
"I had to get to a mental space myself to where I'm OK with moving on, so it doesn't hurt when I'm around the team."
Bosh won two NBA championships with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade in Miami, and made 11 All-Star game appearances in 13 NBA seasons. His last game was in February 2016.
