New York (WFAN/WGR 550) - Deion Sanders likes to refer to his players as "dogs" when he describes one of his guys that hustles, gets after it, and isn’t afraid to be physical and assert his will.

WFAN host Gregg "Gio" Giannotti with "Boomer and Gio" believes the New York Giants are starved for those kind of players.

"There are so few impact players on both sides of the ball for the Giants," Gio said. "Even some of the worst teams in football, you feel like they have more dudes than the Giants do. With Saquon Barkley is out, it’s even worse.

"How many dogs do the Giants have?"

Along with co-host Boomer Esiason, Gio went through the candidates, and in their eyes, there aren’t many.

"Saquon is a dog. The problem is, he’s always in the kennel," Gio said. "Andrew Thomas is a dog. Defense. Dexter Lawrence. Leonard Williams used to be a dog.

"They are devoid of dogs on this roster."

The 1-4 Giants are gearing up to face the 3-2 Buffalo Bills this upcoming Sunday night at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.
