Pittsford, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The first round of the 2023 PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club proved to be a tough one, with Bryson DeChambeau leading the field at 4-under par heading into Day 2.

Round 1 was delayed by the cold, as the first tee times were pushed back until 8:50 a.m. ET due to frost on the course. That eventually led to Round 1 being suspended due to darkness in Rochester.

Among some of the notable highlights from the first round of the PGA Championship includes Scottie Scheffler finishing Thursday with a bogey-free round. He is tied for second in the tournament at 3-under par.

World No. 1 golfer Jon Rahm had a rough first round, as he sits at 6-over par after winning the Masters Tournament back in April at Augusta.

As for Rory McIlroy, he's sitting at 1-over par following his first round action.

As of early Friday morning at Oak Hill, just 16 golfers ended up with a round below par.

Perhaps one of the more funnier moments from Round 1, and in recent golf major action, came from Tom Kim being covered in mud and having to rinse off in one of the lakes at Oak Hill.
