Pittsford, N.Y. (WGR 550) - A little afternoon rain could not slow things down at the 2023 PGA Championship on Friday at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester.
When all was said and done with second round action, there ended up being a three-way tie atop the leaderboard at 5-under par between American Scottie Scheffler, Canadian Corey Conners and Norwegian-born Viktor Hovland.

After both Scheffler and Conners opened their PGA Championship with a 3-under par score in Round 1, they mirrored each other once again with a 2-under par score on Friday in Round 2.
Meanwhile, Hovland had one of the better rounds of the day at 3-under par to get him into a tie for the lead through 36 holes.
The best round of the day belonged to two-time PGA Championship winner Brooks Koepka, who shot 4-under par for the day to get him to 2-under par for the tournament.
Atop the Round 1 leaderboard was 2020 U.S. Open winner Bryson DeChambeau, who had scored a 4-under par through 18 holes. While bouncing back from a rough start to the day, DeChambeau still finished at 1-over for his Round 2, as he sits two shots back of the lead.
Also sitting at 3-under par halfway through the 2023 PGA Championship includes American Justin Suh, who shot 2-under for his second round.
The cut line for the tournament ended up being 5-over par, featuring a number of prominent golfers just barely scoring that and advancing to the back-half of the tournament. Among the notable players just making the cut this year includes Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Zach Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Tony Finau, Jon Rahm, Cameron Smith and Xander Shauffele.
As for the notable list of golfers who scored worse than 5-over par and missed the cut, this list included Rickie Fowler (+6), Francesco Molinari (+7), Jason Day (+8), Gary Woodland (+8), and Danny Willett (+11).
The first pairing to tee off for Round 3 on Saturday in Rochester is set for 8:10 a.m. ET.
