(670 The Score/WGR 550) - It didn’t take long for Connor Bedard to make his impact in the National Hockey League.
In just his second career game in the league, the Chicago Blackhawks' phenom center scored his first NHL goal, and it came in one of the more hostile environments in the league.
Bedard recorded his first tally in the NHL just 5:37 into the first period against the Boston Bruins on Wednesday at TD Garden. Bedard scored it on a nice wraparound after he regained control of the puck just seconds after firing a shot from the right side.
The goal gave the Blackhawks an early 1-0 lead.
Despite getting the Blackhawks on the board first on the road, that was all Chicago could muster for the game. The Bruins responded with three unanswered goals to down the Blackhawks, 3-1, to hand them their first loss of the season.
Bedard has been impressive in his first two NHL games, recording a goal and an assist, while racking up 11 shots on goal and averaging 21:36 of ice-tie. In his NHL debut Tuesday, Bedard recorded an assist in Chicago’s 4-2 comeback win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
