Report: NHL boasts 98% COVID-19 vaccination rate before start of season

Teams around the league are getting ready to return for training camp

National Hockey League deputy commissioner Bill Daly announced on Thursday the league expects less than 15 players to be unvaccinated for COVID-19 this upcoming season, according to a recent report.

Daly told The Athletic that the vaccination rate is in the 98-99% range for players on final rosters for teams across the league.

As of Wednesday, the National Football League reported that 93.5% of their players were vaccinated. The National Basketball Association said earlier this week it would not force players to take the vaccine, but a report from July found that 90% of players were vaccinated.
