Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - One of the key acquisitions for the Buffalo Sabres from last offseason is now in the fold for the long-term.
The Sabres announced on Tuesday the signing of restricted free agent forward Ryan McLeod to a four-year contract worth an average annual value of $5 million.
The 25-year-old joined the Sabres last year following a trade with the Edmonton Oilers. In his first season in Buffalo, McLeod had a career year with 20 goals and 53 points in 79 games played.
McLeod also put up career-high totals in shorthand situations, registering three shorthanded goals and six shorthanded points. Those totals ranked McLeod in the top-10 of the NHL.
He was a second-round pick (40th overall) of the Oilers in the 2018 NHL Draft.
