Los Angeles, Calif. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - For a second time in the 2025 NHL Draft, the Buffalo Sabres take a goaltender with the selection of Yevgeni Prokhorov with the 199th overall pick in Round 7.
The 18-year-old from Belarus played 28 games for Dinamo-Shinnik in the MHL, Russia's junior hockey league, posting a .903 save percentage and 2.19 goals against average. Prokhorov also had a 1.95 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage in six playoff games.
The 6-foot-3 and 179-pound goalie is expected to remain overseas for now, as he looks to compete for a roster spot in the Kontinental Hockey League with Dinamo Minsk.
The Sabres have one more draft pick in the 2025 NHL Draft at 219th overall in the seventh round.
