The University of Scranton will be providing weekly updates on their website of positive tests for COVID 19 on campus. So far three students have tested positive and others are waiting for test results. Three employees also are in quarantine while for 4 others their quarantine period has been lifted. Beginning Monday the University will begin mandatory COVID 19 screening tests for all students who attend classes on campus and all employees.

In other news, Father Scott Pilarz will be stepping down as President of the University of Scranton May 31 2021. In an  announcement yesterday in a YouTube video Father Pilarz explained the decision was made due to the the progression of his symptoms related to his recent diagnosis of ALS. A national search will take place with input from the campus community to find his successor.
