Lackawana County Coroner Tim Rowland confirmed that on Sunday night, a 79 year old male resident died as a result of COVID-19. The man fell ill on March 8th and had been hospitalized in the Lehigh Valley since March 10th. The victim's name has not been released, but he becomes the first Lackawanna County resident to die from this Coronavirus.
