Lackawanna County: More Than Half Of Ballots Have Already Been Returned

Officials in Lackawanna County say about half of the more than 46-thousand mail-in and absentee ballots sent to voters have already been returned.The county has received about more than 23-thousand completed ballots , most of them either mailed back by voters or deposited into secure ballot drop boxes.The county installed six drop boxes earlier this month at municipal buildings in Carbondale, Clarks Summit, Dickson City, Moosic, Roaring Brook Twp. and at the county government center on Wyoming Avenue in Scranton.The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot is Oct. 27. Ballots sent by mail must be postmarked by Nov. 3 and must be received by the county election office by 5 p.m. Nov. 6.
