Due to the overwhelming response by residents, The City of Wilkes Barre has suspended the Household appliances/electronic waste and tire drop off at the DPW yard effective immediately. It's running out of space to store the items. Recycling and yard waste drop off and weekly curbside recycling and yard waste pickeup will continue. City officials say they are now working on a new residential household item disposal program that will be announced as soon as completed.
