At the Scranton School Board meeting last night, officials were able to give more information to those attending about what's going to happen with buildings in the district as work continues to deal with asbestos and lead levels in the water. Among those with plenty of questions were those with children who attend Northeast Intermediate School. That building has been closed since January. According to the enviromental firm working on the building, it could be ready to welcome students back to their classrooms in less than a month. They recommended the district spend $40 to $50,000 to clear the buildings ventilation system. Air samples recently checked have been clear.
